Very Rev. Msgr. Antony Patrao was born on 10-12-1901 in an illustrious family of Mangalore, D.K. District of Karnataka State. After his early education in St. Aloysius College, Mangalore, he joined the St. Joseph's Seminary, Jeppu, Mangalore. He was ordained a Priest on 3-12-1927. After toiling for the welfare of the people of Urwa, Bajpe, and Vittal, Fr. Patrao was appointed as Parish Priest of Mai De Deus Church, Puttur on 8-10-1939. Here he dedicated himself whole-heartedly for the uplift of the people, irrespective of caste and creed. A true philanthropist, visionary, he established Mai De Deus Hr. Primary School, St. Victor's Girls High School, St. Philomena High School, St. Philomena College, St. Victor's English Medium

Hr. Primary School and Fr. Patrao Hospital in Puttur. A man of great vision, loved by man and God, passed away on 14-5-1975 at the age of 74. His whole life could be summarised in the following words of Jesus Christ
